B/L Data
Before delving into the role played by TradeImeX, it is important to understand what B/L data entails. A Bill of Lading is a legal document issued by a carrier to acknowledge receipt of cargo for shipment. It serves as evidence of the contract of carriage and acts as a receipt for goods to the shipper. B/L data refers to the information contained in a Bill of Lading (B/L), a key document used in import-export trade. B/L data, therefore, encompasses critical information about the exporter, importer, product description, and the terms of the contract. The bill of lading, or B/L, is written proof of an agreement between the supplier and the buyer. This paperwork acts as approval for financial shipments and customs clearances. The primary information raised in this data is as follows:
Consignment date
- Name and address of the importer and exporter.
- PKG unit
- Name of the commodity
- Detailed descriptions of every product.
- POD codes, trunk POL codes, etc.
